***When it comes to essential oils I always lean towards safety for children. One of the most effective ingredients in my Mosquito, Tick & No-See-Um Natural Insect Repellent is Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil. Even though it is harmless to adults there are conflicting studies on the safety of Lemon Eucalyptus on children 3 years of age and under for that reason I do not recommend to us on children 3 years and under.

Recipe Ingredients:

Distilled Water, Witch Hazel, Essential Oils: Lemon Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Lemon, Lavender, Organic Citronella, Rose Geranium, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Basil, Clove and Tea Tree.

Lemon Eucalyptus when tested on human adults in Tanzania, gave complete protection from biting for between six to 7.75 hours. Compared to DEET, there was no significant difference in efficacy and duration of protection when used against the Anopheles mosquito, the chief malaria vector in Africa. Other studies have also demonstrated its protection against the biting midge, deer tick, and the stable fly.
