My Parents, Harriett & Pete Collura
How my business evolved
In Memory of my Father, Peter Paul Collura, who died April 27th, 2011, after a long fight of rare skin cancer, Merkel Cell Carcinoma. Ultimately leading to Brain Cancer.
When my father was going through chemotherapy and radiation, I fought hard to find him the most purist nontoxic products available, only to find this task harder than it should have been. I vowed to use my experience to bring products to the market that would be a safer, healthier alternative choice without chemicals. Free of carcinogens.
Since my Father's passing, I will not compromise my devotion and love for him, or my sister (currently in her second remission) by adding unhealthy ingredients that can add more stress on our immune systems. I want to help those trying to make healthier decisions in skincare. Making pure natural organic products.
~~~~~~~~~~~
It's important to take our health into our own hands and make good choices of products we are using on our bodies and homes.
My compassion and empathy for those who struggle with cancer, homelessness, and mental illness keep me busy volunteering for those facing these challenges.
EssenShea's philosophy: Simply going back to basic's...the way nature intended! Using only the purest ingredients for the most organic skincare available.
"EssenShea" since I work mostly with essential oils and shea butter, it just made sense!
Fact: 64% of what we put on your skin, it absorbs! For this reason, I do not use pesticides, methyl, butyl, and propyl parabens, propylene or butylene glycol, petroleum, sulfates, PEGs, TEA, DEA, phthalates, GMO, silicones, artificial dyes or fragrances, formaldehyde, or any animal products. Rain Forest (no palm oil used) & Orangutan Friendly. Just pure natural organic ingredients.
Essential Oils / Aromatherapy
Depending on the plant species, essential oils are extracted from the petals, leaves, roots, buds, twigs, rhizomes, wood, bark, resin, or fruit and then steamed and extracted in vats for their oil properties. Essential oils contain the true essence of the plant it was derived from.
Essential oils, contrary to the use of the word 'oil,' are not really oily-feeling at all. Most essential oils are clear.
Aromatherapy properties are essential oils and are the same. Essential Oils can be used to affect a person's mental mood or health. Essential oils that are inhaled into the lungs offer both psychological and physical benefits. Not only does the aroma of the natural essential oil stimulate the brain to trigger a reaction, but when inhaled into the lungs, the natural constituents (naturally occurring chemicals) can supply therapeutic benefits.
Synthetic ingredients like perfume or fragrances are not the same as an essential oil. Essential oils are derived from the true plants; perfume oils are artificially created fragrances that contain artificial substances and do not offer the therapeutic benefits that essential oils offer.
Essential oils are used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps, flavoring food and drinks, and other products and add scents to incense and household cleaning products.
